From the Daily Star in Bacolod City, the Philippines, comes the sad news of a missionary being killed and two of his companions being injured in a traffic accident. According to the article the missionaries were walking when they were hit by a car. Elder Eugene Fontanos was killed, and Elders Jared Michael Smith and Rolando Terante were injured.

The Miami, Fla., Herald reports on the fascinating story of Jeremy Guthrie, who served a mission to Spain before launching a career in professional baseball, where it looks like he will be the starting pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles on opening day. "Of course (my religion) comes first," Guthrie said. "It's helped me in baseball and in everything I do, because it is the most important thing to me. It's a lot easier to endure the ups and the downs because you have a base and a foundation of what is important to you."
A new Web site focusing completely on Jesus Christ has been launched by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. "Visitors will find information, articles, and multimedia presentations about the Savior," a press release announcing the site indicated. "The site?s design and message are meant to reflect the centrality of the Savior and His Atonement to the doctrine of the Church."

The site, JesusChrist.lds.org, was almost a year in the making. Responding to a perceived need to bring all current and future online Latter-day Saint resources about Christ into one Web location, the site is aimed both at members of the faith and all others with an interest in Jesus Christ.
